Crowning Jesus with the right Crown
February 28, 2007
I've read somewhere that the sharpest thorns in Jesus' crown of thorns are those that are placed there by His friends. How do we crown our King with thorns? We do it everyday by the little doubts we allow to settle in our minds. I have doubted Him from everything from His love for me, to His willingness to listen to my prayers. Doubts about His interest in my life, His good purpose for my life, and most recently, His faithfullness, have plagued me from the begginning of my walk with Him. In my travels through the writing of some of His precious saints, I also came across some more intriguing information. It seems, that if we ever wanted to inflict pain on our dear Lord, we should doubt Him. The knowledge that my doubts actually cause Him physical pain shook me to the core. But, daily, I have to repent of this very thing. In my doubting, I can cause Him more pain than any cat-o-nine tails or spear, or anything the evil one could ever do. The pain is so severe, it drives away His spirit. He has to remove His prescence. If you have experienced His withdrawal,...

HOLD MY SEAT, PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!
February 12, 2007
At my last job, I learned one valulable principle in Christian life. I was asked to put together electronic components in small computers. After watching the instructor closely, I thought I had it down. However, when the technition tested my work, we discovered not all the equipment worked correctly. My instructor noted that I had failed to 'properly seat' one of the cables. The cable, he stated, if properly 'seated' would not come lose, and thus the machine would work. This shed light on a scripture I had wondered about for some time:(Eph. 2:6) This verse had caused me some anxiety because I was thinking of 'seated' as meaning to sit or recline, which meant there must be a limited number of seats close to Jesus. How could I make sure a got a 'good seat?' (meaning right next to Jesus!) The revelation that 'seated' also means 'firmly affixed, unable to be removed,' freed me from such worrying. I know now we who are in Christ Jesus will always have access to Him, without fear of losing our position as His own; (regardless of where we 'sit' around His table!) Praise be to God our Father and His glorious Son,...

Thanks to Jesus, and the dogcatcher
January 31, 2007
This morning I got some valuable insight into 'the voice of the Lord.' I've had an ongoing battle with the local dog catcher. My two muts love to run loose through the neighborhood, as all dogs do. These two have wreaked havoc on the neighborhood for awhile now. The youngest is only about six months old and is huge. We picked her up in the parking lot of a local Dollar General. Recently, the dog were taken in to the pound, again. I went and bailed them out, but within the span of a few days, they were taken in
two more times. As the fees piled up, I realized this setup was
not working anymore. On the last trip, I left them in overnight. Thought maybe that would teach 'em. Within days of returning home, the puppy became deathly ill. After two trips to the vet, a four night stay, and one huge bill, she overcame Parvo. Now, I tie them during the day, and let them roam at night. Also, the fence posts are installed and the concrete is currently setting on our new backyard fence. This morning as I took my little boy to school, I didn't notice the dogs anywhere...
